# openfame.app > openfame.app is a resellable attention market: 100 ranked spots, each always for sale at a price its owner sets; when you're outsold, you get paid; one no-refund line on top, the Throne. openfame aims to become an open protocol where humans, referrer bots, agents, widgets and alternative clients interact through the same public rules. ## Rules (v1.0) - The Board has 100 ranked spots at launch, up to 1,000. Every spot is always for sale at the price its owner set. - Buying a spot pays the price to its owner (97%, 3% payment processing), plus a 5% buyer fee and the first fee period. The spot is yours the second the payment goes through. - The owner sets a resale price between $5 and 20 × the price paid, $25,000 at most. A new price applies immediately; an increase starts a new paid period. - The daily fee is 1% of the displayed price per day, charged every 3 days, at least $1 per charge; the period lengthens until it reaches $1, 30 days at most. - A failed fee starts the liquidation: the price falls 10% per hour, anyone can buy now, down to a $5 floor. After 72 hours at the floor the house reclaims the spot. - New spots open at five fixed hours (02:00, 07:00, 12:00, 17:00, 22:00 UTC), one at a time, only when the last five spots are owned and the median price they paid exceeds $25. - Limits: 5 spots per account or group of linked accounts; 5 purchases per hour; 3 link changes per 24 hours; no purchase between linked accounts. - The Throne is one line with no refund. Taking it costs at least $1 more than the current price; the previous holder is not paid. It resets every 7 days: the holder enters the Hall of Fame. A take at $25,000 wins the season. One minute between takes. - The Wall of Fame: $5 for 24 hours, 3 posts per account per 24 hours. - Links: HTTPS; no adult content, scam, malware, counterfeit, gambling or redirect chains. Checked automatically, reviewed by a human. A frozen link stays in place but is hidden; a second freeze liquidates the spot, loses the Throne without refund, removes the post. - Gifting: a spot can be bought for an X account; that account can claim it or refuse. The house never mentions anyone. - Quotes freeze amounts for 180 seconds and exclude nobody; the first confirmation wins, the others are refused without charge. - Activity points (fame) are awarded by the canister according to public weights. They buy nothing and are not a token. - Prices are in United States dollars, net of taxes. No refund except for a technical error. ## FAQ - What is openfame.app? A resellable attention market: 100 ranked spots, each always for sale at a price its owner sets; when you're outsold, you get paid; one no-refund line on top, the Throne. - Is this gambling? No. You buy a ranked spot for a link, at a price someone wrote on it, and you choose the price anyone must pay to take it from you. There is no chance, no draw and no prize pool. The Throne is a paid ranking: the highest payer holds the line until someone pays more. - How is it different from outbid.lol? On outbid the price only rises and the money goes to the house. Here every spot is resellable: when someone outsells you, 97% of the price goes to you. The Throne, our one no-refund line, keeps the thrill; the board keeps the money moving between people. - What happens when I get outsold? You receive 97% of the price you set, paid to your bank through Stripe with a 7-day delay. You get an email and a share card, and the spots near your former rank are one click away. - What does a spot cost to keep? 1% of its displayed price per day, charged every 3 days ($1 minimum). A higher price costs more to hold and pays more when you're outsold. That is the whole game. - Can I set any price? Between $5 and 20 times what you paid, $25,000 at most. Lower it anytime for free; raising it starts a new paid period. - Why "no refunds" on the Throne? Because the Throne is a public auction for one line, not a purchase of a good. You consent to it before paying. The board is where you get paid back. - Who sees my clicks? Everyone: the board shows clicks over 7 days and the price per click on every line. Clicks are counted once per visitor per hour; known bots are excluded. - Can I buy a spot for someone else? Yes: gift a spot to an X account. They can claim it (it becomes theirs) or refuse (the link is removed). The house never tags anyone. - Do you need my X account? Only to sign in: a public handle is the identity here. We never post for you; share cards open X's own composer. - Where are the rules enforced? In a canister on the Internet Computer: it prices, records and keeps the public journal. Money moves through Stripe. The relay only authenticates and orchestrates. ## Data - Live board, Throne, Wall and tape: https://api.openfame.app/snapshot.json (JSON, refreshed every second) - Journal: https://api.openfame.app/api/events?from=1&limit=200 and https://api.openfame.app/feed.xml (RSS) - Share cards: https://api.openfame.app/cards/{lang}/{kind}/{id}.svg - Languages: https://openfame.app/en/, https://openfame.app/fr/, https://openfame.app/es/, https://openfame.app/ar/, https://openfame.app/zh/, https://openfame.app/hi/ - Tape account: https://x.com/OpenFameTape · voice: https://x.com/OpenFameApp
